
Breakfast of champions.
I made the smitten kitchen slice and bake cookies. I halved the recipe and added the remaining zest from an orange that had been hanging out in the fridge (it previously lost some zest to old fashioneds) plus about a 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped. The cookies are good, and I enjoy the slice-and-bake process, but the cookie itself is more like a not-hugely-sweet shortbread than anything else. I like it, but it’s an adult-oriented cookie.

In other news, sifting confectioners’ sugar is awful. Despite my best efforts, I had sugar on my feet, on the counter, on the laptop, covering my hands, on the floor, everywhere.
